Award-winning media personality, Emcee, and digital content creator Anita Nderu is narrating one of her most exciting and quite hilarious encounters while in Jamaica for her friend’s wedding.
According to the mother of one, they were met with shock upon arrival at the hotel that they had booked online as they had updated their terms and conditions but the updates had not been reflected on the booking websites just yet.
Narrating the encounter the host of The Overdressed Cook revealed upon arrival they were notified that as of February this year, the hotel had fully restructured itself into an adult-only hotel and didn’t allow kids below 16 years regardless of if they were accompanied by their parents or not.
Mind you Anita had travelled with her almost 7 months old baby girl.
“As excited as we were to stay at the S hotel it turns out that as of February it became an adult-only hotel with kids 16+” started off Anita.
She went on to add how at first she had felt awkward being there as they were waiting for a check in but the hotel management and staff were really nice and helpful in coming around with a solution for Anita and her family.
“When I walked around the first time while waiting for check-in, I told B that I felt uncomfortable for all the adults there because they were all clearly there to just adult their holiday away and would feel weird hanging with Kaya in the poolside cabanas doing family things while everyone is on wild central,” Added Anita.
Thankfully the hotel understood that the family had no way of knowing if their new regulations as they hadn’t updated their website and on that note, they refunded Anita and helped her get accommodation in a nearby hotel.
It ended up being the best thing for her as most of her friends were staying in that hotel and it had been fully booked when she was looking for places to stay before flying out.
“As the universe would have it, they informed us during check-in that we would get a full refund, no kids under 16 are allowed (we booked through booking.com so the new regulations hadn’t reflected) and helped us get another hotel where all our friends were that was initially booked out.” The new mom excitedly announced.
She finished off by highlighting that she and her hubby would most definitely be scheduling a trip to the said hotel soon and this time around without little peanut.
“We are DEFINITELY going back there though for one of our adults-only trips to go, “ the last of her post read.
