Kenya Cup champions Kabras Sugar RFC continued their domination of local rugby when they beat nemesis Kenya Commercial Bank (KCB) 30-27 to retain their Enterprise Cup title in an enthralling match at the RFUEA Grounds on Saturday evening.

KCB were looking to get their pound of flesh from the sugar millers – having lost to their Western Kenya rivals in the Kenya Cup final last month – and looked set to achieve their objective when they raced to a 18-0 lead in the first half.

However, a last-gasp try by Dan Sikuta ensured Kabras went to the dressing room with a glimmer of hope, with the scores at 18-7.

On resumption in the second half, the sugar millers came back a re-energised side and were duly rewarded with a penalty to bring the scores to 18-10.

The bankers, however, recovered their poise and hold over the game, scoring two penalties in quick succession to increase their advantage to 24-10.

Another penalty for KCB seemed to secure the bragging rights and complete their revenge mission until Kabras gained three more points as a result of a penalty.

With the scores poised at 27-23, Kabras gave one last push and were rewarded with a try at the death of put them ahead in the match for the first time and bring the curtains down on a match that had fans on the edge of their seats for 80 or so minutes.
