President William Ruto on Saturday, April 15, 2023, launched the resumption of tarmacking of 90-kilometre road crisscrossing Kìambu, Kìambaa and Limuru constituencies at Gachie in Kiambu county.
Ruto said the project has a huge economical benefit to residents as it willl ease transportation of farm produce to consumers.
“Launched the upgrading to bitumen standard of the Kiambu-Raini, Nduota-Gathanga-Kigwaru, Gachie-Gacharage, Power-Kihara-Karura, Kantaria-Raphaelites-Kabuku and Loop Roads, and Universal-Kaimba, Kaiyaba-Muchatha Roads, Kiambu County.
“The tarmacking of 90-Kilometre road in Gachie and Limuru, Kiambu County, will ease the flow of farm produce and goods to the market, opening up access to huge economic opportunities for thousands of people in the area,” he stated.
Also present during the exercise were Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua, Investments, Trade and Industry Cabinet Secretary(CS) Moses Kuria, Majority leader Kimani Ichung’wa, Kiambu governor Kimani Wamatangi among other leaders.
Ruto in Narok
Earlier, the President was in Narok county where he launched Ksh1.5B sewerage project.
On Friday, Ruto was in Mavoko, Machakos County where he aslo launched the Sh2.7 billion Mavoko Water Supply Project.
The project by Belgium and Kenyan governments is in line with the commitment to the provision of universal clean and safe water and targets to supplement the current rationed water supply in the region.
