Police in Thika have launched investigations after an irate mob attacked and killed a brother of a suspect who allegedly stabbed to death another man at Kiandutu Slums in Thika town and ran away for safety on Monday Morning.

Kelvin Kioko is said to have stabbed a middle-aged man at Mtatu A area at around 3am leaving him for dead for unknown reasons before fleeing.

The victim was rushed to Thika Level 5 Hospital by his neighbours who answered his distress calls but he was pronounced dead on arrival.

In a retaliation attempt, a charged mob went to search for the assailant at his home in a neighbouring slum, Kianjau, but he was not in and in a revenge mission, they attacked his brother and killed him.

Mary Wanjiku Muiruri, mother of the innocent son killed at his home, is now appealing to the security agencies to investigate the matter and bring the perpetrators to book.

“My son is a bodaboda guy who hustles around here and in Thika town, he was killed for no reason at all. His killers must be arrested and prosecuted,” she said.
