Paris Saint-Germain footballer Achraf Hakimi, 24, also a member of the Moroccan national football team, wished his mother a happy Mother’s Day 2023 on Sunday, 7 May 2023, on Instagram, attracting over 3 million likes and 34,200 comments and counting.
Noticeably absent was the mother of his two sons – Amin and Naim – Spanish model Hiba Abouk, 36, his estranged wife.

The snub comes amid her ongoing divorce after the pair decided to go their separate ways earlier this year before heading to court.
During their separation, Hakimi was accused of sexually assaulting a woman he brought to their Paris home on 25 February, but he denied the allegations against him.

Ms Abouk said she stood with all victims of sexual violence and would always believe them.
“Who could have imagined that after taking the decision to legally separate and stop living together while awaiting the divorce proceedings, I would have to face this ignominy in addition to the usual pain that accompanies a separation and the grief that accompanies the failure of a family project to which I had given my body and soul,” Ms Abouk said in a media statement.
Although Hakimi did not wish her a happy Mother’s Day, Ms Abouk celebrated the occasion in her own manner by sharing a photo of her sons towelling themselves off after a swim on social media.
She expressed gratitude to her sons for making her a mother.
“I thank life for giving me two beautiful and healthy children. And I am eternally grateful to my children, Amin and Naim, for choosing me to be their mother and for making me happy every day. You are the most important thing in my life. No matter what happens to you, I will always love you. Congratulations to all mothers,” said Mrs Abouk.
Achraf and Hiba secretly tied the knot in 2020, two years after meeting at a Vogue Arabia photoshoot.
The pair went public with their relationship at a charity event in June 2019, making it official on Instagram two months later.
The pair went on to have two sons before their marriage eventually crumbled.
