Real Madrid have reportedly identified Inter Milan striker, Lautaro Martinez, as a possible alternative should they fail to sign Tottenham’s Harry Kane this summer.
Martinez has established himself as one of the top strikers in Italy since joining Inter Milan from Racing Club for over £20 million in 2018.
The 25-year-old has helped the Nerazzurri lift a total of five trophies so far, including the 2020-21 Serie A title.
The Argentina World Cup winner has guided Inter to the UEFA Champions League final this season, where they will face Manchester City this weekend.
According to Jijantes, Real Madrid are currently working behind the scenes to sign Karim Benzema’s successor after the Frenchman left the club to join Al-Ittihad.
The Los Blancos have identified Kane as their top target due to his availability, but Carlo Ancelotti’s side are also currently keeping tabs on Martinez, whose contract is set to expire in June 2026.
