Pastor Ezekiel Odero got a reprieve after the state restored broadcasting by his TV stations following a ruling by a Mombasa court.

On Thursday, June 15, 2023, via YouTube, the church announced the reopening of its TV station and thanked God for the move.

This has allowed the televangelist and his millions of subscribers and followers a chance to fellowship together live.

“To Newlife family, we give God all the glory. Now we are on air in aerial, free to air decoder and satellite in Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Rwanda, Burundi, Ethiopia, Congo and Congo DR,” the church announced via its Youtube channel.

During the court battles in the last few months, the preacher stated that he was losing Ksh10 million weekly as a result of the closure which meant millions were unable to follow services.

The Communication Authority of Kenya had suspended the broadcasting of The World Evangelism alongside Paul Mackenzie’s Times TV in connection to the Shakohola deaths and cult preaching.

“Following an extensive review of content aired by the two stations between January-April, 2023, the Authority established that the TV stations violated broadcasting standards requirements and license conditions,” the CA statement read.

According to CA, World Evangelism TV, owned by Odero, was found to have aired inappropriate content on exorcism during the watershed period. The TV station is said to have had 12 other violations.

Mackenzie’s Times TV is said to have aired inappropriate content on exorcism and flouted 17 other broadcasting license conditions.

The CA then directed broadcasting signal distributor Pan African Network Group (PANG) Limited to cease carrying the two stations on its platforms until further notice.
