Kenya College of Accountancy University KCA-U is facing an uphill task to maintain its status in the Kenya Hockey Union men’s Premier League.
The league newbies are winless in eight matches having registered six losses and two draws to remain grounded in ninth position in the 10-team league.
KCA-U who won promotion from the Super League last season alongside Sikh Union, is likely to return to the second tier unless results improve in the second leg.
They started the season with two consecutive draws. A goalless draw against fellow varsity side Strathmore Gladiators was followed by a 2-2 all-draw against tail-enders Greensharks.
The students embarked on a three-match losing stretch. The 2-0 loss to table-topping Western Jaguars was the beginning of an awkward performance for the Ruaraka-based side.
The 5-1 demolition by Kenya Police was hard to take but the 4-0 battering in the hands of Sailors served to remind coach Wilson Oteino of the tough task he faces.
KCA-U would then go on to accrue a single point in their last three matches.
Losing to fellow promoted side Sikh Union 2-1 on Sunday was another low moment for the team.
