Azimio leader Raila Odinga has appealed to social media users to join him in defying President William Ruto’s government.
While speaking at Kamukunji grounds on Tuesday, Raila called on Kenyans on Twitter famously known as KOT, content creators and Tiktokers in Kenya and the diaspora to rally behind him.
“I am reaching out to the online community in the country and diaspora, the famous Kenyans on Twitter, the Content Creators and Tiktokers, I have a request to you, let us gather and share information about traitors, their social media accounts, telephone numbers and email addresses to show the oppressors that power belong to the people,” he said.
Raila also appealed to performing artists to write and sing music that will be a source of pain to traitors(government).
He said music themes should carry disappointments and support the fight against the government.
Raila also requested his supporters to boycott the payment of taxes introduced under the Finance Bill 2023.
He urged Kenyans to walk to work in order to deny Ruto fuel tax.
He said the sum effect of this move is to limit the consumption of petrol and diesel by public service vehicles.
“One way, to do this is to carpool. Let us arrange to make regular journeys in a single vehicle whenever possible. Give each other a ride. Cut down on non-essential travel. Walk instead of driving whenever possible,” Raila said.
“I appeal to all the employers to allow their workers time to walk to and from work,” he added.
