The National Transport and Safety Authority (NTSA) has urged motorists to exercise caution on the roads when driving during the current rainy weather.

In a statement released on Friday, NTSA highlighted the need for motorists to reduce their speed and turn on their fog lights during wet weather to enhance visibility.

The transport authority also advised drivers to keep a safe distance from the vehicle ahead, maintain a steady and controlled speed, and avoid sudden maneuvers that could result in loss of control.

Moreover, the NTSA is urging drivers to plan their journeys appropriately, allowing for extra travel time due to potentially slower traffic caused by adverse weather conditions.

The Kenya Meteorological Department has forecasted rainfall in various regions, including the Central Highlands, Rift Valley, and Western Kenya.
