Newcastle manager, Eddie Howe has left open the possibility of the Premier League side using their Saudi Arabia connections to sign players such as Cristiano Ronaldo on loan.

The Magpies will play in the Champions League next season after finishing in fourth place.

However, so far, Howe has only added £55m man Sandro Tonali to his squad.

Howe has now suggested that Newcastle could make some deals with Saudi sides who, like Newcastle, are owned by the Gulf State’s Public Investment Fund (PIF).

When asked whether players like Ronaldo and Ruben Neves could become loan targets for the Magpies, he replied: “That depends on if it is the right thing for Newcastle. We’ll always act with our best interests first.”
