Second Lady Dorcas Rigathi says she went to the Wailing Wall in Jerusalem, Israel to pray for Kenya on Saturday.

Ms Rigathi, who is in the Middle Eastern country at the invitation of her friends, said she prayed for the nation and sent a message of hope that God is in control despite the challenges Kenyans are facing.

“It shall be well with Kenya because God is a covenant-keeping God! And so, I was at the wailing wall in Jerusalem. Kenya, pray without ceasing for the Bible records,” she said in a communiqué sent to newsrooms on Sunday.

The Second Lady was invited to Israel to benchmark on the ‘rehabilitation villages’ she intends to set up in Kenya. The program seeks to address rehabilitation and reform from drugs and substance abuse.

She says in these ‘health villages’ drug addicts will be made to feel at home, unlike boarding schools, making it easier for their recovery during the treatment period which lasts between 5 and 8 months.

“The concept removes the mentality of enslaving, gives them freedom and validates their dreams,” Ms Rigathi said previously.

Her prayers for the country come at a time Kenya is dealing with political tensions amid the ongoing anti-government protests called by the opposition to picket the high cost of living and increased taxation

And while the opposition has been mobilizing the demonstrations on the premise of peace, they have turned violent, with over 300 arrests according to the Interior Ministry, and 20 deaths.

The opposition has called for the ninth round of protests this week, even as President Ruto calls for their halt because they are not a solution to the problems of Kenyans.
