Detectives are pursuing an unknown male suspect who is believed to have murdered a female police officer in Mashuuru, Kajiado Central.
The police officer, who was positively identified, is attached to the Emali SGR station – Mashuuru Sub County police commander Charles Chepkonga confirmed.
She was stabbed in the neck and face with a sharp object in an incident that occurred at around 8 pm Wednesday evening.
The crime was reported by members of public residents of Umasaini Texas plot after they unsuccessful chased the attacker who took off after committing the heinous act.
According to eyewitnesses, they had a commotion at the house belonging to the officer before a man with a bloody knife was seen taking off.
The officer’s body was discovered at her doorstep.
Mashuuru Sub County police commander Charles Chepkonga said preliminary investigations point out that the suspect is known by neighbours.
“It is unfortunate that a life was lost. There is no justification whatsoever to kill anybody. We have taken up the matter and commenced an investigation into the motive of the murder. We have crucial information that is helping us pursue the suspect,” Chepkonga said.
The incident was reported at Mashuuru police station vide OB 12/2/08/2023 at 20:14 hours.
The body has since been moved to Kilome nursing home awaiting postmortem.
