Michael Muriuki: Catholic priest kidnapped in Narok found in Nakuru with hands tied

Michael Muriuki, the Catholic priest kidnapped on Wednesday at his parents’ home in Mau Narok has been found.

Father Muriuki was reportedly found in Kaptembwa, Nakuru West on Thursday morning tied up with ropes. He was rushed to the Nakuru Referral Hospital.

The priest is said to have been hijacked at his mother’s home at around 8 pm by unknown people, who used his vehicle, a Subaru Forester of registration KDK 353L to drive him away on Elementaita Road.

Police reports indicate his phone signals were traced in several areas within Nakuru town and his vehicle was recovered in Nakuru town at 9:30 pm, abandoned along Ogiligei Street.

Additionally, more than Ksh.100,000 was withdrawn from his several accounts at different points within the town and according to police, the vehicle was found abandoned with a running engine.

The priest was recently transferred to Holy Cross Parish Nakuru from Elburgon in Molo.
