The alleged romantic affair involving Cabinet Secretary for Youth Affairs, Sports and the Arts, Ababu Namwamba and renowned content creator Azziad Nasenya has taken the spotlight in recent times, capturing public attention and sparking discussions across various platforms.
Azziad was appointed to the now-disbanded Talanta Hela Committee on February 9, with Namwamba assigning her a role within the initiative’s creative technical committee. Since then, Kenyans On Twitter (KOT), have been speculating about the nature of their relationship.
Now, Kenyan songbird Akothee is calling on the public to shift its focus on pressing issues.
“Is Azziad not above 18 years of age? Is she not entitled to date as an adult? Is Cabinet Secretary Ababu Namwamba not a grown man, especially being a Luhya African man, and therefore free to make his own choices? Azziad has never claimed to be anyone’s wife; she is just a young individual,” Akothee said.
“Azziad is like my daughter, when things got tight I reached out to her, she has no idea why Kenyans plant the CS on her,” the singer said.
The songbird said if two parties are interested in each other and are single, there shouldn’t be an issue.
Akothee also pointed out that there are more important issues than the alleged relationship between Azziad and Namwamba.
Both Azziad and Namwamba have explicitly denied being in a romantic relationship.
Azziad, responding to Akothee’s post, expressed gratitude to the singer.
“Thanks, Mom. May God keep fighting my battles for me,” Azziad said.
In a recent interview, Mr Namwamba said he is not romantically involved with Azziad.
