Siaya Senator Oburu Oginga has dared the ODM rebel MPs to resign from the party and seek re-election if they feel that they are ‘men enough’.

He challenged them to resign and seek a fresh mandate from the people if they felt that they were popular instead of going around chest-thumping.

Oburu took issue with those who have been saying that they don’t fear going for a by-election, wondering why they took the ODM party to court for expelling them.

Similar sentiments were echoed by Migori governor Ochilo Ayacko, who called on ODM leader Riala Odinga to reconsider the decision that he took to pardon some of the rebel MPs, saying that they also needed to be disciplined.

Ayacko regretted that the very MPs who were forgiven and slapped with considerate penalties following their alleged engagement with Kenya Kwanza administration are the same MPs who were with the same team in Kakamega yesterday.

The leaders were speaking during a house warming ceremony at the home of West Sakwa ward MCA Tabu Osewe in in Bondo Constituency, where Siaya governor James Orengo stated that it is quite unfortunate that Siaya has the highest number of those rebels.

He called on members of the public not to allow such characters to continue disrespecting Raila Odinga and ODM party, noting that they should not be given any more space to continue with that trend.

The ceremony was also graced by Azimio leader Raila Odinga who stated that the rebel MPs should just be ignored for them to lose relevance within the community.

Odinga likened the rebel MPs to ‘mad men who cannot miss in a market’ and talking about them every now and again will only give them an unnecessary fame.

The ODM party claims, “We have not joined the Ruto government.”
