The Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (ODPP) has confirmed the sentencing of a 21-year-old man accused of defiling a 13-year-old girl.

While confirming the ages of the two, DPP Renson Ingonga announced that the 21-year-old man identified as Isaac Juma Odhiambo is set to serve a 15-year jail term.

This, according to Ingonga, comes after Senior Resident Magistrate David Odhiambo ruled that the court found compelling evidence to convict and jail Isaac for the offence.

Justice Odhiambo ruled that the accused was unable to detach himself from the offence given the magnitude of the evidence adduced by five prosecution witnesses.
