A police officer in Kericho East sub-county, Kericho county is reported to have assaulted his colleague after inviting him to their station over a technical fault on printing machines.

In a police report, Gideon Kipng’etich called Caleb Manani to the station at around 16:00 hrs on Tuesday to give an explanation on why he thought Kipng’etich was the one using the station’s computer and printer before they developed a technical fault.

“On arrival at the station, an argument ensued between the two officers and in the process Kipngetich grabbed Manani and pushed him on the ground and he started punching him on his face causing injuries on his mouth and nose,” read part of the report.

It is also reported that the station printer, worth Ksh.30,000, was also destroyed.

Manani was rushed to Kericho Referral Hospital where he was treated and discharged in stable condition.
