A man from Kigumo, Murang’a County, who walks with bees swarming around his head, is appealing to local leaders to assist him in acquiring 10,000 beehives to transform these insects into an economic venture.

In a viral video, the young man, strolling along a remote road, can be heard speaking in the Agikuyu language, saying, “Having bees is my talent.”

When passersby pose questions to him, he expresses his desire to own beehives.

He says, “Our area lawmaker (Kigumo Member of Parliament, Joseph Munyoro) and the Ward Representative (MCA) should collaborate and provide me with several beehives so that I can proudly say I am a youthful investor in Murang’a. I have no place to keep them,” he explains.

Those inquisitive about his intentions are curious about where he plans to relocate these valuable yet dangerous insects due to their role in honey production.

“Where will you take them?” one of them asks.

He replies, “Perhaps I would instruct them to fly.”

“Will they not attack other people?” he is further questioned.

According to the man, he will instruct them to build their ‘homes’ in a secluded place, and they will not bother anyone.

Surprisingly, the man claims the bee swarm that he walks around with has never stung or attacked him.

He says, “I have been cleansed… God is omnipresent.”

His remarks and responses elicit laughter from onlookers.

With luggage in his hands, the bees appear to surround him, from the back of his head to his cheeks, chin, and neck.

“I request to be sponsored with beehives by our leaders, to uplift and support my talent, just as young soccer players are provided with balls. I should also be entrusted to be a beekeeper,” he pleads.

“Let my talent be recognized like others’… I would be very delighted if I were given 10,000 beehives,” he continues to explain.

The courageous man from Murang’a admits that he can instruct the bees to inhabit the beehives.

He insists that he is eager to meet Murang’a County Governor, Mr Irungu Kang’ata.

In his conversation with passersby, it is revealed that he has been hired to scare away bees that invade people’s homes.

Murang’a is no stranger to such dramatic and extraordinary occurrences.
