EPL: Three matches we could see shock results this midweek

The Match Day 15 of the Premier League began on Tuesday night, with Arsenal and Wolves claiming narrow wins.

The Gunners edged Luton Town 4-3 to go five points clear, while Wolves beat Burnley 1-0 at home.

There will be six fixtures on Wednesday and two on Thursday, as the festive schedule kicks in.

So, which three matches are we likely to see shock results?

1. Aston Villa vs Man City: Manchester City are without a win in their last three matches. The champions have drawn against Chelsea, Liverpool and Tottenham. Certain observers have insisted that Pep Guardiola’s men have looked a bit off this season and that will again be tested when they visit Villa Park. Unai Emery’s men almost never lose at home and with in-form Ollie Watkins upfront, City would need to be wary.

2. Sheffield United vs Liverpool: With 10 minutes left at Anfield, Liverpool were losing 3-2 to Fulham. Marco Silva’s men gave the Reds a tough game and should have left with a point. Sheffield United would have watched that match and taken some encouragement. With their raucous home support, they could cause an upset against Liverpool.

3. Tottenham vs West Ham: Spurs were heading to a fourth successive defeat in the league, before Dejan Kulusevski’s late goal saw them draw 3-3 at Manchester City. Ange Postecoglou’s men have the chance to return to winning ways against West Ham, but this will be far from being an easy game. The Hammers are in ninth place and are having a good campaign with players like Mohamed Kudus and Thomas Soucek in fine form.
