TikToker Kinuthia bags nomination for Top creator 2023

TikTok has announced the nominees for the annual Top Creator, the second annual awards ceremony that recognises and honours TikTok creators across sub-Saharan Africa for the immense talent and creativity they brought to the platform in 2023.

The upcoming ceremony, which will take place in Johannesburg on February 9, 2024, will recognise and honour TikTok creators who have made a significant impact with their talent and creativity during 2023.

Former Kenya Sevens player turned chef Dennis Ombachi was announced as the 2022 TikTok Top Creator from Sub-Saharan Africa.

“Coming from a sporting background, I have won a few medals but this is a different feeling,” he said.

He dedicated the award to his family, saying his wife encouraged him to start creating TikTok content.

“My cooking journey started way back when I was playing rugby for Kenya and travelling to different countries all the time and seeing different cuisines and different recipes,” he said.

TikTok has now unveiled a list of the best content creators from across Southern Africa who have a chance to be crowned TikTok #TopCreator2023.
