Lionel Messi, Erling Haaland, and Kylian Mbappe will battle it out for this year’s FIFA Best Men’s Player Award, according to the shortlist revealed by FIFA on Thursday.

This means the same top three that finished at the top of the Ballon d’Or voting will compete for the prize.

The Women’s Best Player shortlist has Spain’s duo of Aitana Bonmatí and Jenni Hermoso of Spain and Linda Caicedo of Colombia.

Haaland helped Manchester City win the treble of the Champions League, English Premier League, and FA Cup last season.

Messi and Mbappe won the Ligue 1 title with Paris Saint-Germain but were dumped out of the Champions League in the Round of 16.

Messi then moved to Inter Miami CF and won the League Cup.
