The Professional Game Match Officials Limited (PGMOL) has explained why Liverpool were not awarded a penalty against Arsenal on Saturday.
Gunners captain, Martin Odegaard appeared to grab the ball as he fell down in the penalty box.
According to Sky Sports, the PGMOL stated a penalty was not awarded because “Odegaard’s arm is moving towards the body and not the ball as he goes down.”
Referee Chris Kavanagh waved play on after the incident.
After VAR official David Coote checked the incident, he backed Kavanagh’s call to not award a spot-kick.
Arsenal had taken an early lead through Gabriel. Mohammed Salah then equalized for the hosts.
