Police in Siaya County are investigating an incident where a 61-year-old man was found dead in a guest house within Bondo Town.

According to officers, the lifeless body of Mr Nicholas Oganda Ogol was found by the guest house attendants on the morning of Tuesday, January 9, 2024.

Mr Cleti Kimaiyo, who is the Siaya County police boss, said that the body was found by the caretaker of the lodging at 10:30 am.

“The matter is still under investigations, officers are trying to find out whether he was accompanied by anyone when he booked the room,” said Mr Kimaiyo.

Nairobi News has established that Ms Eveline Atieno, the caretaker of the premises, reported the matter. She said that she was busy cleaning the rooms when she found the lifeless body of Mr Oganda.

According to Ms Atieno, the deceased, on the night of Monday, January 8, 2023, checked into the guest house alone, but he appeared drunk.

The following morning, house attendants who were cleaning the rooms found the body of the deceased lying on the bed with some 90 HIV treatment tablets beside him.

Police say that the body did not have any visible physical injuries, and it was taken to the Bondo Sub-County mortuary pending an autopsy.

Mr Kimaiyo said that the police had already reached out to his family and informed them of what had transpired.

Meanwhile, police in Rongo, Migori County, are investigating an incident where a three-year-old girl disappeared a week ago.

Mr George Oloo, the grandfather of the minor, said that the girl went missing on January 4, and they have not seen her since then.

He said that children who were playing with the missing minor had informed him that a woman called her before leaving with her to an unknown destination.
