Safaricom has acknowledged the failure of its mobile payment service, M-Pesa PayBill.

The mobile network provider in a notice on Tuesday said it was experiencing a recurring service intermittency which had affected some PayBill payments.

“We are experiencing a recurring service intermittency affecting some PayBill payments. The issue is under resolution by our technical team, we shall inform you once normal services resume,” Safaricom said.

“We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience caused. Thank you for your patience.”

Some M-Pesa users had from Monday reported an inability to make payments to the national electricity provider Kenya Power and also make bank-to-mobile transactions.
