A police officer who allegedly defiled a secondary school student while in custody at the Kaptumo Police Station, Nandi County, and then disappeared has been arrested.

Confirming the arrest, Nandi South police boss Peter Mbua said the officer – Jared Okada – was spotted on Monday evening at his hide out where detectives who have been on his trail nabbed him.

Okada was on Tuesday arraigned before a Kapsabet court where he took a plea against his personal miscellaneous application and will remain in police custody for some more days pending further investigations.
