UDA-nominated senator Karen Nyamu is stirring criticism after a video of her driving on the wrong side of the road resurfaced online.
Netizens drew attention to the video first shared by Karen on her insta-stories flouting traffic rules at a busy roundabout.
In the video, the legislator is also heard ‘mouthing’ imprudent advice as she continually pressures the driver to use the wrong lane despite him expressing concerns of an imminent accident.
A traffic cop was also spotted in the video.
Here are some of the reactions from netizens:
Karen Nyamu is not even an elected Member of Parliament but nominated. She is openly showing us the middle finger with utter impunity. She doesn't even qualify to be anywhere in Parliament. Sometimes one gets annoyed at the kind of maleficence we bring upon ourselves. SHAME https://t.co/R5A9C6K6NB

This should be enough to get Karen Nyamu's driver charged with a traffic offence, and Mwesh impeached for abuse of office, but this is Kenya. pic.twitter.com/bnqY8Aa4xk

In mature democracies, Karen Nyamu should have stepped down pending investigations if that video is to go by. Sadly, she recorded it willingly and posted it herself for clout and nothing will happen to her. Shame on my country. Mediocrity became the standard indeed.

Nominated Senator @karennyamunbo instructs her driver to “steal with confidence!” We give legislators a Sh5 million car grant, fuel that car for 5 years, pay their driver and bodyguard(s). Then they terrorize us on our roads by driving on the wrong side of the road. Disrespect! pic.twitter.com/rkWe16MkDl
