I Want To Inspire Youths To Focus On Farming Charlene Ruto Says

First Daughter Charlene Ruto has said she intends to inspire youths to become agricultural leaders who see farming as a platform for positive change.

Speaking during the 7th Africa Agri Expo on Monday, Charlene emphasized the critical need for accessible education and training to equip youth with skills for innovation and sustainability in farming.

Apart from youth empowerment, Charlene said that women should be uplifted and integrated with new technology in agriculture.

Taking to her X account, Charlene said they highlighted the pivotal role of women in agriculture, emphasizing their expertise and leadership.

“Through policies promoting gender equality and initiatives ensuring access to resources, we aim to create an environment where women thrive as leaders in agriculture.”

She further said that they are cultivating a brighter future for agriculture together by empowering, and uplifting women and leveraging technology.

Charlene said that sustainability, innovation, and equality are central to efforts to transform the agricultural landscape for the better.

She said she is extremely passionate about young people and her strategic plan is to champion their agenda.

“My educational and experiential background in communication and hospitality compounds to ensure that young people’s brilliant and creative ideas become actionable entrepreneurship platforms and that they live a wholesome life,” Charlene said.

The ministry plans to establish five more fistula repair centers by 2025.
