Police confiscated the product suspected to be used in the production of fake counterfeit alcohol following reports from local residents about suspicious night-time activities in the area.
Kiambu County Police Commander Michael Muchiri said that the police will be vigilant to ensure that they put an end to illegal and harmful alcoholic products.
“When we have these illegalities taking place, the kind of products we get will be from the backstreet and the standards are not observed…and when it flows now to the community, that would have very devastating consequences in terms of health, even deaths,” he said.
This comes just a few days after 20 people in Kirinyaga County died due to consumption of illicit liquor.
No suspects have been apprehended.
