The Prime Minister of Ethiopia Abiy Ahmed landed on Kenyan soil on Tuesday evening making his first state visit since President William Ruto took power.

Abiy and his spouse Zinash Tayachew were received by Ruto and thereafter officially opened the Samasource Kenya EPZ Limited at the Nairobi Delivery Centre.

Images shared by Ruto on his X account showed the two elated leaders sharing a light moment as they shook hands.

His visit comes after President Ruto visited Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, for the 37th African Union Summit of Heads of State and Government on February 16.

Abiy made his last visit to Kenya in 2020 under President Uhuru Kenyatta’s rule for the launch of the One-Stop Border Post at Moyale in Marsabit.
