A video of a Super Metro minibus making a daring about turn right on the highway in broad daylight has worried Kenyans online.

In the undated video, the minibus belonging to the Matatu service operator Super Metro can be seen idling at an angle on the wrong side of the highway before making a turn and driving right against traffic.

As the driver attempts to negotiate the turn, a motorist in a black vehicle can also be seen attempting to squeeze their way around the mini bus before driving away.

The minibus then drives off – on a lane which is clearly meant for drivers going the opposite direction.

On the other side of the lane, a huge traffic snarl-up can be seen – an indication that, maybe, the minibus was attempting to beat traffic.

Kenyans who watched the video on X were perplexed at the driver’s tomfoolery with many disappointment that a Super Metro minibus (they’re renown for their orderliness) could display such blatant disregard for traffic rules.

“Supermetro misbehaving on the road? In broad daylight? I’ve seen it all!” someone commented.

Sir Lewis said, “Super Metro nowadays is like any other SACCOs. Their services have declined. How could anyone in their right mind drive in the wrong direction on a highway where vehicles reach speeds of up to 120 kph?”

On her part, user Ruth Atieno opined, “Yaani ata Super Metro wameanza tabia za nganya? But knowing how strict the sacco is, this driver is definitely headed for a disciplinary hearing!”

Unable to understand the Super Metro hype, one other user asked, “Is this the same sacco which forces people to queue in the CBD like highschoolers? They’ve reduced themselves to this? Well, mgema akisifiwa….”

By the time of publishing, Super Metro had not commented on the video. We also have not been able to identify the errant driver or the vehicle’s registration number.
