Seven people were killed in an early Tuesday morning road accident at Ngata Bridge in Nakuru County.

The accident occurred after a van rammed into a stalled truck along the Nakuru-Nairobi highway at around 5:30 a.m.

Eyewitnesses who were among the first responders to the scene said they retrieved the bodies of five adults and two children from the wreckage.

The private van was ferrying over 15 people to Kisii for an event, according to a preliminary report by the police.

Witnesses said the truck had been stalled at the spot for the last three days.
County Police Commander Samuel Ndanyi confirmed the incident, saying bodies have been moved to Nakuru Annex Funeral home.

One adult male who is among the casualties is yet to identified.
