Renowned journalist Larry Madowo had an encounter with Elizabeth Ndung’u, a Kenyan entrepreneur based in Glasgow, Scotland, who is making waves by offering African dishes at her restaurant, Calabash. Ndung’u’s eatery provides a diverse range of dishes representing different regions of Africa, catering to the tastes of her predominantly African clientele abroad.

Larry Madowo, impressed by Ndung’u’s initiative, shared a video showcasing her restaurant’s offerings. Ndung’u explained that Calabash aims to satisfy the cravings of every African customer by offering food from all parts of the continent.

Larry expressed his appreciation for Ndung’u’s efforts, feeling a sense of connection to his African roots as he sampled various dishes like mukimo, jollof rice, Ghanaian-style grilled meat, and other delicious cuisines offered at Calabash.

“In Calabash, we cater to all Africans and our friends. We have food from each and every region from East, West, South and Central Africa. This means whoever comes through this door will always have something to relate to as an African or a friend of Africans,” she said.

The initiative has garnered praise from Kenyans on social media, celebrating Ndung’u for promoting African cuisine and culture on an international platform.
