After rains created a landslide, some Nyamira County locals have appealed for assistance. The incident was reported at Manga’s Nyakongo in Kitutu Central.
There are noticeable fissures at the Gionserio quarry, which is the most damaged location.

According to Area Chief Evans Nyang’au, this has caused fractures on the Gionserio-Nyakongo road.

“The quarry has been closed for safety purposes and locals warned against prospecting at the site,” the chief said.

The country disaster response team is assessing the situation amid calls for government support from locals.
