Honored to have worked for my government, As he exits as the UK’s High Commissioner, Esipisu says

Outgoing Kenyan High Commissioner to the United Kingdom, Manoah Esipisu, expressed gratitude for the opportunity to serve the Kenyan government as he marked his final day in office. Esipisu highlighted the privilege of working with remarkable staff members and cherishing memorable moments during his tenure as High Commissioner.

He also extended appreciation to President William Ruto for entrusting him with the position shortly after assuming office.

“Today I bid farewell to the famous No. 45 Portland Place London. Great staff. Great moments. A fine Innings. Thanks to President William Ruto for retaining me in the post and grateful for the opportunity to serve the government in diplomacy and communication,” Esipisu said.

Originally appointed by former President Uhuru Kenyatta in 2018, Esipisu is among several diplomatic mission leaders who will be stepping down following Ruto’s recent appointments, approved by the National Assembly. Catherine Kirumba Karemu will succeed him in the role.

 

Prior to his departure, Esipisu was honored as the Diplomat of the Year 2024 from Africa, along with nine other influential diplomats based in the United Kingdom. He emphasized that the award reflects recognition of Kenya’s efforts in fostering strong bilateral relations and demonstrating leadership on global issues.

“To be performing at the highest level here is because of the support I have got from my colleagues at the Kenyan Mission and from my beautiful wife who is here and my family. and I want to thank them dearly for this,” he said.

“Lastly, I have to thank my president for asking me to come to London and our government for supporting me through this period.”

These awards acknowledge the exceptional contributions and accomplishments of London’s diplomatic community in striving to enhance the well-being of their respective nations.
