Ombati, inaugurated under the auspices of Chief Justice Martha Koome, assumes the mantle from Macharia Njeru, whose tenure concluded on Monday, May 13. He embarks on a five-year term in his new role.
In his inaugural address, Ombati expressed gratitude to the Law Society of Kenya (LSK) for entrusting him with the position, pledging to prioritize the concerns of lawyers. He commended the passionate engagement of LSK members in advocating for their welfare, assuring them of his commitment to their cause.
“Members of LSK are very passionate about their welfare that’s why they are here in numbers… I can assure you that these members are members with goodwill,” he said.
Among the distinguished attendees at the event were JSC Commissioner Isaack Ruto, Solicitor General Shadrack Mose, Majority Whip Sylvanus Osoro, and eminent legal practitioners. Omwanza secured the position following his election during the LSK polls held in February this year.
