Kenya has signed a Ksh.22.8 billion ($175 million) investment expansion plan with Coca-Cola, set to span the next five years.

State House Spokesperson Hussein Mohamed announced this on Tuesday following President William Ruto’s visit to Coca-Cola’s headquarters in Atlanta, Georgia, accompanied by other Kenyan leaders.

After signing the deal, Trade and Investments Cabinet Secretary Rebecca Miano highlighted the partnership’s potential to create job opportunities and boost Kenya’s economy.

Nairobi Governor Johnson Sakaja also expressed optimism, noting the move would generate many jobs for Nairobi residents. This meeting was part of President Ruto’s week-long US visit itinerary.

Coca-Cola, which opened its first bottling plant in Nairobi 76 years ago, currently employs 3,000 Kenyans directly and another 37,000 indirectly.
