England legend, Alan Shearer has showered encomium on Ademola Lookman following his remarkable performance in the final of the UEFA Europa League.

Lookman scored a hat-trick as Atalanta ended their 61-year trophy drought courtesy of a 3-0 victory over Bayer Leverkusen at the Aviva Stadium on Wednesday night.

The Nigeria international who was simply unplayable on the night opened scoring for La Dea in the 12th minute after he was set up by Davide Zappacosta.

The skillful winger then jinked past Granit Xhaka before unleashing a ferocious shot into the net for his second 14 minutes later.

Lookman added the third with another sublime finish 14 minutes from time.

Shearer was full of praise for the Nigeria international after the game.

”Atalanta brilliant again tonight. Lookman wow, what a hat-trick,” the former Newcastle striker wrote on X.
