Opposition leader Raila Odinga departed for the United Kingdom on Thursday morning. According to his spokesperson, Dennis Onyango, Odinga will deliver a keynote address at the University of Oxford, invited by the Oxford Africa Society.

Onyango stated that at the annual event, Odinga will present a lecture titled “Forging Africa’s Future: A Journey of Resilience and Renewal.”

“At the annual event, Mr. Odinga will deliver a lecture titled: Forging Africa’s Future: A Journey of Resilience and Renewal,” said Onyango in a statement to newsrooms.

In his speech, Odinga will discuss Africa’s trajectory of resilience and renewal, drawing from his extensive public service and advocacy experience. Key themes will include political stability, economic growth, equity, democracy, and social cohesion.

He will also highlight stories of resilience and examples of renewal from across the continent.

Additionally, Odinga will touch on his bid for the African Union Commission chairmanship. Accompanying him to the Oxford event are Prof. Makau Mutua, Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna, and Nyando MP Jared Okello.
