Kenyan Premier League powerhouse AFC Leopards has initiated the recruitment process for a new CEO after the expiration of Albert Wesonga’s six-month term in an acting capacity.

The club aims to appoint a CEO capable of enhancing financial stability by attracting new sponsors and positioning Ingwe for a strong title challenge in the upcoming season. Wesonga assumed the interim role last November following the dismissal of former CEO Victor Bwibo.

“We now seek to hire the next Chief Executive Officer who has the capacity, vision and dedication to lead a passionate workforce in the secretariat. The successful candidate will be a strategic and driven leader, focused on process and outcomes, possessing a strong track record and diverse skill set to build and lead the club.

“The CEO will bring vision, passion and high energy to generate new ideas in support of the club’s mission. The CEO will head the secretariat and oversee the operations, marketing, membership and resource mobilization in line with the policies set by the National Executive Committee (NEC),” the club said as they advertised for the position on Thursday.

Bwibo served AFC Leopards for five years, beginning in 2018 when he succeeded Jacob Abisai. The 12-time league champions currently hold the sixth position on the league table with 47 points, trailing champions Gor Mahia by 20 points with only three matches remaining.

Their pursuit of silverware persists as they gear up to play Kenya Police in the FKF Cup semi-finals at Police Sacco Stadium on Sunday.
