Grace’s barbershop, located in the heart of Nairobi’s central business district (CBD), offers more than just haircuts—it provides a comprehensive pampering experience coupled with entertainment.

Grace has innovatively combined traditional barber services with dance performances, a unique approach that has garnered international attention.

According to Grace, her shop aims to deliver a holistic experience to clients, going beyond mere haircuts. She incorporates dance shows into the pampering session, creating a vibrant and engaging atmosphere. Notably, Grace documents these performances and shares them on TikTok, a social media platform known for its viral content.

In an interview with Trudy Kitui, Grace revealed that her captivating TikTok videos have significantly boosted her business, attracting clientele from various parts of the world.

Men from countries such as the United States, Juba, and Ghana are drawn to her shop for its distinctive styling services and lively ambiance. Grace’s innovative approach has transformed her barbershop into a sought-after destination, showcasing Nairobi’s dynamic and creative entrepreneurial spirit.

“I have received a lot of clients from America, Juba, Ghana, South Africa. There’s this client who came all the way from Nigeria specifically to get her hair cut from me. I was in the house, and he insisted I had to be his barber; I was really experiencing a low moment.

“I was broke with bills to pay, and I felt like I hit a jackpot. It all worked out. He came with his wife , and they paid me in dollars,” she recounted.

Grace highlighted that men value her barbershop not only for the visual appeal but also for the unique experience it offers, which cannot be physically interacted with.

She emphasized that her presence on TikTok, where she showcases her dance performances, plays a crucial role in attracting clients to her establishment.

Despite initially attracting some men with misguided intentions, Grace explained that once they visit her barbershop, they realize the genuine and professional nature of her services.

She acknowledged encountering occasional challenges, particularly from wives of her regular customers. However, Grace emphasized that her business maintains a reputable and legitimate status, akin to any other establishment.
