Real Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti expressed his team’s unwavering hunger for success, affirming their commitment to pursuing more silverware in the upcoming season following their triumph in the Champions League final at Wembley on Saturday.

Los Blancos clinched their record-extending 15th Champions League title with a hard-fought 2-0 victory over Borussia Dortmund.

Ancelotti emphasized that complacency would not be a concern for his team, highlighting their relentless drive for success. He assured fans that the club would celebrate their achievement before swiftly turning their focus to the future.

Ancelotti outlined the upcoming plans for the players, including participation in international tournaments such as the Euros and the Copa America, before returning to the club with renewed determination.

Having secured the Champions League trophy for a record fifth time as a coach, Ancelotti was hoisted into the air by his jubilant players during the post-match celebrations, symbolizing the collective joy and unity within the team.

“This competition gave me fantastic happiness, as a player, as a manager,” continued Ancelotti, who turns 65 on June 10.
“My target is to try to repeat the same emotion that we (have) the week after this game, this is the target.
“I have the luck to the be at the best club in the world.”

Ancelotti lauded his team’s performance this season, giving it a perfect “10 out of 10” rating despite facing significant challenges due to injuries to key players like David Alaba, Eder Militao, and Thibaut Courtois, who notably started in the final match.

Despite these setbacks, Real Madrid achieved a remarkable feat by clinching both the La Liga and Champions League titles for the fifth time in their history, solidifying their position as the dominant force in Spanish football.

Looking ahead, Madrid’s dominance may receive a further boost with the anticipated signing of French striker Kylian Mbappe, whose move from Paris Saint-Germain is expected to be finalized in the near future. However, the team will bid farewell to German midfielder Toni Kroos, who is set to retire from professional football following the conclusion of Euro 2024.

“What will happen now? Something will happen. We lost an important player, we will have other players to take over,” said Ancelotti.
“As we have always done, we adapt to the characteristics of the players that we have, to be competitive.”
