Ducati has officially confirmed that Marc Marquez will be Francesco Bagnaia’s teammate for the 2025 MotoGP season. Marquez, a six-time MotoGP world champion from Spain, will join the Ducati factory team, teaming up with reigning champion Bagnaia, the Italian manufacturer announced.

Marquez, who currently rides for Gresini – Ducati’s satellite team – joined the team at the beginning of 2024 after 11 seasons with Honda. He will replace Italian rider Enea Bastianini on a two-year contract, as announced by the team on Wednesday.

At 31 years old, Marquez has not won a race since October 2021 and currently holds third place in the standings at the midway point of this season.

“I am very happy to be able to wear the red colours of the factory Ducati team in MotoGP next season,” Marquez said.
“I am happy to be able to take this big step in 2025 and grateful for the trust Ducati has placed in me.”

Marquez’s move to the reigning world champions was largely anticipated, especially after the announcement on Monday regarding Jorge Martin’s departure to Aprilia from Ducati-Pramac, another of Ducati’s satellite teams.

In the current 2024 MotoGP Riders’ World Championship standings, Marquez holds third place with 136 points. He trails behind Martin, who leads with 171 points, and Bagnaia, who sits in second with 153 points.
