On Thursday, the School of Infantry (SOI) in Isiolo hosted a graduation ceremony for a new cohort of Defence Forces Constabularies (DFC).

The DFC is a unit responsible for maintaining security, protection, and orderly regulation of public establishments and property within the Kenya Defence Forces (KDF).

After completing a rigorous six-month basic military training, the constabularies will be deployed to various services, formations, and units of the KDF. Major General Mohamed Nur Hassan, the Deputy Army Commander, presided over the event. In his address, Hassan emphasized the importance of observing KDF’s core values, including professionalism, remaining apolitical, civil prerogative, patriotism, and loyalty.

He reminded the new members of the force of the KDF’s history of valour and sacrifice and urged them to uphold the institution’s traditions and values. The ceremony also recognized outstanding performance in discipline, specialized skills, marksmanship, sports, and drills by both recruits and instructors.

Among those present were SOI Commandant Brigadier Pascal Kitiro, senior officers, service members, and the families of the graduands.
