Narok Governor Patrick Ole Ntutu announced that his administration will establish a special bursary fund exclusively for widows in the county. Addressing over 5,000 widows gathered at Ole Ntimama Stadium on Saturday, Governor Ntutu highlighted that widows have often been excluded from the bursary programs in various wards, despite their children’s significant need for financial support.

This initiative aims to ensure that the children of widows receive the educational assistance they deserve.

“It has reached a time as a government we have said we shall slash a budget on bursary in every ward and set it up for these widows,” said Governor Ntutu.
The widows who were celebrating their coming together under One Widows umbrella, told the county boss that since they lost their husbands they have been left at the mercy of well-wishers.

“Our children have been missing out on this bursaries that is why we thought coming together under one voice would help us,” said one of the widows.
Governor Ntutu told the widows to front representatives to his office to work out on modalities and the amount of money to be set aside the kitty.

“I will work with these officials you have given me so that we know how much money we can get from each ward,” added Ntutu.

The widows were also challenged to work out other revenue streams to support their families.
The meeting was also graced by Hellen Nkaisserry among others.
