Police in Nairobi are investigating an incident in which a shopkeeper was robbed of Sh1.2 million in Parklands area.

According to reports, detectives attached to the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) said two robbers on a motorcycle stormed into the shop.

During the incident, which took place on the night of Tuesday, June 11, 2024, the two asked the attendant if he sold rechargeable cards.

“The two men were wearing face masks when they carried out the robbery,” the victim told police in his statement.

The victim further told the police that the duo then pulled out their guns as they ordered the worker to lie down.

They then proceeded to grab a bag containing the money from the day’s sales.

Moments later, they left the premises and by the time the workers raised the alarm, the robbers had fled.

Meanwhile, in Lang’ata, a woman was seriously injured after being attacked by robbers who made off with her money and other valuables.

The robbers allegedly hit the woman on the mouth with a rifle butt, causing her to lose two teeth.

She was also injured by the gang on her forehead and hand.

A security guard noticed the woman lying unconscious and decided to take her to a nearby clinic.

She was later allowed to go home before going to the police to report the matter.

Police are currently searching for an online taxi driver who dropped the woman off in Lang’ata.

Meanwhile, in Nakuru town, police have launched a manhunt for a gang that allegedly shot dead a Mpesa operator before stealing from her.

The deceased has been identified as Ms Florida Khameta, who runs a Mpesa shop next to a petrol station.

Police said she was attacked by the men, who were armed with a pistol.
