It’s promising to hear that Sports Cabinet Secretary Ababu Namwamba is confident about the timely completion of renovation and construction works at Nyayo, Kasarani, and Talanta Sports City stadiums.

To host the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations, these developments are crucial for Kenya’s sports infrastructure and reputation on the continent.

The anticipation of Talanta Sports City Stadium being ready by December 2025, ahead of CAF inspections, is a positive sign of progress.

Once completed, the ultramodern complex at Talanta Sports City Stadium will provide a state-of-the-art venue capable of accommodating a large number of fans, further enhancing Kenya’s capacity to host major sporting events.

“We are confident that the speed that is currently being considered for the construction of Talanta Stadium puts us in a good place to ensure that we complete the work by December 2025 as we said at the beginning.

“And even the renovation that is going on in the Nyayo and Kasarani stadiums is also going on at a very good pace.” said Ababu.

The development of the state-of-the-art facility at Talanta Sports City is a significant aspect of Kenya’s infrastructure enhancement program, particularly in preparation for hosting the prestigious AFCON 2027 tournament alongside Uganda and Tanzania.
