In Nairobi’s Bahati estate, police are investigating the discovery of a woman’s body found floating in a river. According to initial reports, the body appeared to have been swept to the area on the evening of July 2, shortly after her murder.
Residents alerted the police after spotting the naked body with its legs tied together using a manila rope. The motive behind the murder and the identity of the victim are yet to be determined.
In Kisumu’s Kasagam area, Jane Otieno Ojijo, also known as Jane Akinyi, died following an assault during a domestic dispute in Obumba sub-location, Muhoroni sub-county. The suspect faced the wrath of a mob upon news of the woman’s death on July 1.
Police intervened to protect the suspect and have detained him pending further investigations. The woman’s body has been taken to the mortuary for autopsy.
In Riruta Satellite shopping center, Anthony Mugo, aged 39, was found dead under circumstances where no visible injuries were evident. His body was taken to Nairobi Funeral Home (formerly City Mortuary) for a postmortem to determine the cause of death.
Meanwhile, in Suguta Marmar, Samburu, police are probing the death of Josphat Nakobu, aged 46, whose body was discovered outside his residence in Kirimon market. Although there were no apparent injuries, blood was observed oozing from his mouth. His body has also been moved to the mortuary pending an autopsy.
These incidents highlight a concerning trend of sudden deaths, prompting calls for vigilance regarding individuals facing personal challenges.
