Suna West Member of Parliament Peter Masara has dismissed proposals by some legislators to abolish the National Government Constituency Development Fund (NG-CDF), arguing that such moves do not serve the interests of the majority of Kenyans.

Speaking at Oruba Primary School during the inauguration of a new classroom, Masara emphasized that CDF remains the primary fund supporting development nationwide. He asserted that nearly every Kenyan has directly benefited from a CDF-funded project, unlike other funds.

Masara insisted that CDF should be retained, urging senators instead to concentrate on overseeing governors’ activities.

In addition, the Suna West MP criticized the president’s directive banning state officials and public servants from participating in fundraising drives. Masara stated that he would not comply with a directive that has not been ratified by parliament, declaring his intention to proceed with all planned fundraising activities.
