Real Madrid manager, Carlo Ancelotti has revealed the reason behind the club’s decision not to sign Victor Osimhen last summer.

Osimhen was linked with a number of top clubs around Europe last summer following a superlative outing for Napoli.

The striker scored 26 goals in 32 outings to help the Partenopei win the Scudetto.

Real Madrid lost their talismanic forward, Karim Benzema, who left the club for Saudi outfit, Al Ittihad.

Ancelotti said signing Jude Bellingham has compensated for Benzema’s departure.

The Italian told Radio Serie A: “No (we didn’t sign Osimhen) because I think the club thought that Benzema’s absence could be remedied by purchasing (Jude) Bellingham.”
